I can't help wondering what the situation would be it The Nation had teamed up with The Economist for subscriptions promotions, or indeed if their current subscriptions business partner Newsweek opted to print an article that was deemed to be insulting to His Majesty and/or Thailand. Stranger things have happened in the past, and I'm guessing The Nation would be guilty by association, not to mention being extremely embarrassed.
On the subject of subscriptions , that offer has been extended for a second time. Personally I've now had three pieces of direct mail trying to convince me to sign up. Desperation? Especially when I already get a copy each and every day anyway.
