EVACUATIONS, AIRLIFTS AND GOVT. HELP

More emotive words in the headlines today that start to show just how serious the world is viewing the airport closures. Some Governments are using any means that can to get their stranded tourists out of Thailand, including the use of military transport planes.
On the ground there's been no change to my routine. The British Fair went on as normal last weekend although the centre of Bangkok did some a little quieter than normal for the end of a month (pay day for the vast majority of the local workforce).
The Thai Government is offering a 2,000 baht allowance against hotel accommodation for stranded passengers. More information can be seen at www.tourismthailand.org or by calling 02-652-8313/4 between 8am and 12 midnight.
If anyone is still stranded in Thailand and wants to share their experiences please let me know.
