SUPERSTITIONS

Thailand obviously isn't a superstitious place. Christmas decorations are, according to ancient folklore and traditions, supposed to be taken down before twelfth night - or January 5th. If not taken down they must remain for the whole year or risk 12 months of bad luck.
Around 80 per cent of the decorations in Bangkok have disappeared but a significant minority, including some wonderfully over sized Christmas trees, still remain. I think for Thai people the Christmas and New Year celebrations are intertwined so it probably doesn't count.
Are you superstitious?
