LOOKING OVERSEAS FOR MEDIA STAFF

The Bangkok Post is searching overseas for new staff. Thailand's largest English language newspaper, as the advert says, recently posted a vacancy for a News Sub Editor on a UK journalism jobs website that is affiliated to industry journal Press Gazette.
I wonder if they'll get any takers? They're looking for experience and that costs money. A sub editor on a weekly newspaper is likely to be earning the equivalent of 100,000 baht per month, and I seriously doubt that will be the kind of salary on offer. Obviously the more experienced the candidate, the more they'll already be earning and the harder it will be to attract them.
I know several publications have been successful in recruiting from the UK because working in Thailand isn't all about money; it's a wonderful experience too. I've seen similar ads for similar positions in recent months so I assume there are no suitable people already working here?
