VISA PROBLEMS FOR THAI SOCCER BOSS REID

The Bangkok Post reports that Thailand's national football team boss Peter Reid was fined by Thai immigration authorities for overstaying his visa. The incident happened when Reid and his team departed Bangkok for a tournament in Vietnam yesterday.
I'm no expert on the minefield that is Thai visas, but surely he should have a work permit and the accompanying multi-entry visa?
