MERIT MAKING

It's my girlfriend's birthday today - HAPPY BIRTHDAY TANYA - and this morning we went to a Buddhist temple for merit making. What that involves is presenting some gifts to the monks, and those gifts can be pretty much anything from food and medicines through to cash. In return you are blessed by a monk. Although I am not a buddhist I found the whole experience quite calming. The monk this morning even spoke a little English which was really nice.
The picture on the right is Tanya, or Ratty for short because her Thai name is Tanyarat.
