PLANNING - WHAT'S THAT?

I don't know whether Thai business as a whole suffers from a lack of forward planning (if it does that it might explain a lot of things) but when my boss decides to do something then it will happen.
A couple of weeks ago he was approached with the idea of having a job fair. Two weeks later we have a Job Fair to organise, promote and sell, all in little more than 10 weeks.
He's also delegated the 'redesign' and overhaul of Maplus Magazine, our longest established and most successful publication, to me. He feels as though it has lost its focus and, after two years, it needs a fresh look and injection of new material. I actually agree it doesn't have much of a focus at the moment, and perhaps the most important fact is that he wants to take it from a free magazine to one that is paid-for.
This is going to be fun! Any suggestions would be appreciated - and I am not joking.
