WORRYING TIMES

I have to admit that I am more worried now than I was earlier in the week. Rumours have been rife in the last couple of days of another coup - although the Army General appeared on television last night to dispell those fears. It certainly seems the problems are far from over - although so far the only incidents since the explosions of last weekend have been hoax calls. One yesterday was from a 12-year-old girl who 'fancied an afternoon off school'. I think she's now 'helping the police with their enquiries' as the UK media would say.
The British Embassy has just updated its advice in the last hour, saying that there is a 'possibility of further attacks in the coming days'. That's new. Before they were only advising us to be careful and avoid crowded public places. I wonder if they know something I don't ?
A new poll, conducted on Tuesday, shows that public confidence in the Prime Minister is a little under 50 per cent. Compare that to more than 90 per cent right after the September coup. The natives of Bangkok are certainly restless it would seem.
On a lighter note (or perhaps not) a famous fortune teller was interviewed on tv on New Years Day. His predictions for this year (wait for it) are violent political demonstrations in March and April, and an earthquake in Western Thailand that will be felt in Bangkok.
Should I pack my bags now?
