IT'S OHH SO QUIET ....

... but, in the words of the song by Bjork let's hope there's not 'another big riot'.
On Saturday we went to Chatuchak Weekend Market, which was pretty quiet. There were lots of police and security is attendance, and some were speeding around on segway scooters and looking pretty ridiculous at the same time.
There's a report in The Bangkok Post today saying that shopkeepers and stallholders around the city have noticed anything up to a 30 per cent fall in takings since the New Year explosions. Whilst some places are still busy it seems people are reluctant to part with their money.
In the UK that would mean sales and price reductions to get people to part with their money, but Thailand doesn't work like that. Here people will increase their prices to make up for the shortfall in sales - at least until they realise that's not going to work either and they will have to cut their prices.
