I LOVE MY JOB BECAUSE ...

...it gives me an excuse to spend countless hours in bookshops conducting 'research' on magazine trends and what is generally available. One thing caught my eye last weekend in one of the Thai bookshops. (And yes, I do get funny looks when I go to the counter to buy Thai language magazines). The magazine in question is about fishing, and it had the strapline 'The number one Angler's magazine'. Surely they have not created a magazine just for one single person? I haven't tried to explain this to any of my Thai colleagues yet - it will be lost on most of them.
This ranks close to the 'English Transslations available' sign close to my office, although I think this will be hard to beat.
