MORE FROM THE MARKET

Chatuchak Weekend Market is a wonderful place for shopaholics like me. I've been many times and I always seem to stumble across a new area each time. There's a lot of tourist tat but there are also some really nice bits and pieces. The items in this picture probably fall into the former category, but they made a nice, typically Thai picture.
The market has something like 15,000 stalls. The best time to visit is mid-morning _9am-11am) before it gets too hot and crowded. It's a chaotic, claustrophobic cacophony of life with nothing in the way of air-conditioning, but I'd recommend it to anyone planning a trip to Bangkok.
