Bangkok, or Krungthep Mahanakhon Amonrattanakosin Mahintharayutthaya Mahadilokphop Noppharatratchathani Burirom-udomratchaniwet Mahasathan Amonphiman Awatansathit Sakkathattiya Witsanu Kamprasit to give it its full Thai name, is understandably the holder of the world's longest place name in the Guinness Book of Records.
It's also the world's hottest city according to the World Meteorological Organisation, and claims as being one of the world's most densely populated cities. The city is also Asia's top tourist destination but has only been the capital of Thailand for little more than 200 years.
