ANONYMOUS BLOGGING?

The author of the English Girl in Isaan blog (www.englishgirlisaan.blogspot.com) wrote recently about her dilemma concerning whether to 'come out' and stop being anonymous. She is an English teacher and was initially worried that parents of her students might read what she wrote, thus restricting what she is able to write.
I've been open about who and where I am from the start. Anyone who wants to find out more about me can, without too much detective work. If you're a regular reader the chances are you'll know quite a lot about me already.
I also know that some of my staff also read the blog, but so far it's not stopped me writing whatever I feel like. Perhaps it some way it helps them to understand more about me and what I am going through. What do you think Khun Nid and Khun Noi?

Thank you for asking.

Well,I can admit that coming across your blog has become my habit nowadays. huhuhu..

As you've mentioned that 3 hrs of work and then taking a break for few minutes with something else..could help somehow, I agree with you on that. And as i told you at the very beginning, this kind of communication can help me understand your attitude and personality somehow, not just professional at work only.

Likewise, I assume that you also visit my blog regularly but unfortunately that I haven't updated it that much... What I'd love to do after my working hours is photos, not that much letters ;)

So I am sorry for that Andrew, you can't get information from me that much ;) But I will update what I'm going through with you soon!

I started my blogs with full details to my other activities and everybody knew who I was and what I did. But, after only a few days, I had to reconsider and even stop writing on one of my two blogs. But I have other plans for that blog (something not so controversial)!

I have only recently 'come out' as well. For the past few years, I've been writing only for the few selected friends to read because I didn't want others to know that 'much' about me. But now I've changed my tone of voice in writing my blog so everyone's welcome.

I guess when you are in the open you have to be more careful about what you blog about and that would be some kind of restriction, wouldn't it? :)

Sanne - The same laws of libel and defamation apply to bloggers as to other publishers. In theory someone could sue you if you say something about them that is untrue. However the laws and what is deemed accaptable are different around the world - as the YouTube incident has clearly shown.
