SPEAKING AT OLYMPIA
Yesterday I was speaking at Publishing Expo, a high profile media and publishing industry event at Olympia in Central London. The speaking part went well (at least I think it did) but the most important thing for me was chatting to exhibitors and suppliers. It has reinforced my opinion that the media industry in Thailand is far, far behind the rest of the world.
I made some contacts yesterday and I hope I can develop relationships over the coming months to implement some of the technology on offer in Thailand. Obviously there's the language barrier and the fact that the internet is so much slower to overcome, but nothing is impossible.
Just for the record - Wokingham (about 40 miles west of London) to Kensington Olympia return - 22.40 plus 4.80 for the car park.

When I lived in Thailand I knew several people working at the UK embassy on Wireless road. To a man, they preferred living in Thailand to the UK, and the main reason was the cost of living. The lifestyle they enjoyed in Bangkok was something they could only dream about in the UK. I can't see how anyone could afford a commute that costs that much, but then there are Americans who hop in their SUV and drive 100 miles a day and call it "freedom" while grumbling about petrol prices.
