LEARNING FROM MOVERS, SHEIKHS AND SHEIKHAS

I don't know where to start. I really did learn so much at the conference in Dubai last week. So much simple yet valuable advice, so many new contacts and so much to comprehend and try to implement.
One of the best speeches came from His Highness Sheikh Nahyan bin Murbarak Al-Nahayan, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research for the Government of the United Arab Emirates. His Highness opened with a wonderful quote about globalization. He said: "What a demanding challenge, yet what a wonderful opportunity." Later, talking more about ways in which business needs to adapt to the changing world, he said: "We need to understand traditions in order to free ourselves from them."
I have many quotes from some of the most successful and important business leaders from throughout the Middle East and Asia. From time to time over the next few weeks I will drop one or two into the blog.
