FIRST LOOK AT NEW MAGAZINE

By chance I had a copy of the new Director Thailand magazine given to me yesterday. Regular readers will see this is the magazine I blogged about on Friday. It's a new English language bi-monthly magazine from Kinaree Media Marketing.
My first impressions are good. It's glossy and full-colour throughout and runs to 68 pages in total. The cover price at 220 baht is high when you consider similar Thai language titles are in the 80-120 baht price range. I know the readership will be entirely different, and the success of this magazine will rest of being able to give its readers something new. The content is good but isn't really too different from that you can read in other parts of the media.
Advertising looks amazingly good for a first issue, especially as many agencies and companies have a written policy that prohibits associating themselves with new titles during their first six months of operation. If Director Thailand has managed to achieve its rate card prices for the first issue they'll have a successful title in no time at all.
