SUNDAY BEST FOR THE BANGKOK POST

The Bangkok Post launched it's much heralded new look Sunday offering yesterday. The newspaper offers six different sections; the main news section plus Brunch, Spectrum, Sports, Comics and Classified. The cover price of 40 baht (60p or US$2 approx.) is 10 baht more that other days of the week, although I only paid 30 baht because that's what was scanned at the checkout.
The Sunday Nation
, the other English daily newspaper in Thailand, managed to produce just 18 pages for its 25 baht cover price. The format has changed yet again to the broadsheet regular style, as opposed to the five-times-a-week Daily Xpress tabloid size which they were offering on Sundays just weeks ago.
There's no question who is winning the battle for readers on Sundays.

I didnt like bkkposts use of red lines and borders. Kept distracting me while trying to read.

The new look was a welcome surprise for me. I liked some of the new fonts they used, particularly the one used on the SPORTS headline.

I suppose after 6 days of THe Nation, readers would possibly prefer a less strident view of the world
