WATCH OUT! ANOTHER MAGAZINE
QP Magazine, a publication devoted to the luxury watch market, is the latest licensed magazine to hit the shelves in Thailand.
This magazine hails from the United Kingdom and has been licensed for the Thai market by Penta Media, the same company that has licensed motoring magazine Evo.
The watch magazine sector is pretty crowded with locally-produced titles so I'm a bit surprised at the decision by Penta to license what is actually a little known title outside those in the watch business.
The Thai version was launched in July with a cover price of 120 baht. It's very well printed, full-colour and glossy throughout and runs to 120 pages. In terms of quality it certainly matches the market it's intending to reach.

I read the name as a D, tilted over, resting on a P. But even as QP, I still don't know what it means.
It is QP - but like you I don't know what it means either.

One of the things that always fascinated me about living in Bangkok was the ability to see sectors of society that I was, as an American Suburbanite, previously oblivious to. For instance: The "Luxury Watch Market"? Who knew?
