ANOTHER ENGLISH MAGAZINE STOPS PUBLISHING

EXCLUSIVE: by The Bangkok Bugle
Sukhumvit Eye, a satirical English language expat magazine has suspended publication, joining the ranks of other unsuccessful Thailand-based English magazines Metro, Untamed Travel and Farang Magazine that have all disappeared within the last two years.
Sukhumvit Eye was launched less than a year ago in November 2007 and produced a total of eight issues. The Bangkok Bugle understands publishers UpFront Media have suspended publishing because of an inability to attract sufficient advertising revenues.
The third edition, produced in March, contained less than one page of apparent paid-for advertising in its 24-pages. And even with a decent distribution that included branches of the B2S chain it's not known how many copies of the 100 baht title were sold.
