SPECTACULAR STORMS

Bangkok has enjoyed, if that's the right word, some dramatic thunderstorms in the last few days. For an astraphobe like me (someone with a fear of thunderstorms) it's not been particularly enjoyable, however I was brave enough to take a few pictures from my balcony last night. What I like about this scene is that it happened at dusk. There was just enough light to give definition to the clouds. My only regret is that I didn't manage to capture some of the longer forks of lightning. At least I did get two small bolts in this shot.
For the photographers amongst my readers this image was taken with a Nikon D40 with a 70-200mm lens, roughly half a second and f11 at 200 ISO. I've only boosted the contrast in Photoshop by about 8 points. It really was that dramatic.
