THAI MAGAZINES

There are around 50 licensed magazines in Thailand. Licensing means a local publisher obtains the rights to use an overseas magazine brand and content here. Over the coming months I'll focus on some of them.
Her World originates from Singapore and was launched in 1960. It is one of just a few successful Asia-based titles that has licensed successfully across the region. It claims to be the number one womens title in Singapore, and publisher Singapore Press Holdings has secured local language licensed editions in Malaysia, Thailand and Indonesia. Plans were recently announced for a Vietnamese edition.
The Thailand edition is produced by GMM Grammy, a Stock Exchange-listed media company. The cover price is 80 baht and the October edition, which includes several free samples of beauty products, runs to 180 pages. It's widely regarded as one of the best-selling magazines in the competitive womens magazine sector.
