WORLD TELLS THAILAND ENOUGH IS ENOUGH

I get the feeling the world is losing patience with Thailand.
This year hasn't exactly been a positive one for the Kingdom in terms if its global image and Tuesday evenings storming of Suvarnabhumi has understandably grabbed attention around the globe. On Wednesday those events made front page news in the places such as the United States, Germany, Taiwan and Hong Kong. The main question being asked seems to be how can a lawless mob be allowed to take control of such an important part of the country?
I think what happened earlier this year was pretty bad but the events this week have well and truly eclpised what's happened before. Governments around the world have been commenting on the situation here, and an ever increasing number are warning their citizens to steer clear of the Land of Smiles.
Judging by my own number-of-contacts-from-friend-and-family-overseas-wanting-to-make-sure-I-am-safe index this week is ranking even higher than the 2006 coup and the clashes during September this year. That's an indication of how widespread the coverage has been and how badly Thailand's image is suffering.
How long will the country suffer? I'd say that for ever hour that Suvarnabhumi remains closed you can allocate two weeks for the time it will take to recover.
