NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY

Thailand's only English language television network was advertising a number of vacancies last week. Among positions being advertised were 'news reporters' and 'television cameramen'. What shocked me was these positions were listed 'no experience necessary'.
Perhaps there aren't enough suitably experienced candidates in the market which is why they don't stipulate prior experiences? These are positions for Thai nationals only.

BB: You should watch the channel then you will realise why!

BP - thanks so much for your comment. I can't imagine any other country where no experience is required for this kind of work.
I've only seen the channel a couple of times. It's not the easiest to locate.

Andrew, most so-called "current affairs" programmes in Australia do not require any journalistic talent!

They consist of reviews of diets, they tell what will kill you this week but the following the same product is extolled as a cure for cancer , shoddy tradesmen ripping off the elderly, celebrity mishaps and glorification, you know, real news!!!

Thailand is, therefore, not unique!
