HILLARY ON THE COVER OF TAKSIN MAG
The second edition of Voice of Taksin is on the shelves, with Hilary Clinton on the font cover.
I was critical of the first edition from a production standpoint, feeling it looked like a magazine that had been put together in a short time.
This second edition looks better, although I cannot comment about the content. One thing is obvious, and that's with the inclusion of story pointers about the masthead it looks a lot more like the style which was adopted by Time magazine until recently. The headline, Hillary vs. Abhisit: Who is the faked democracy?" is grammatically incorrect but you get the meaning.
The magazine has picked up several advertisements, maintains its 72 pages and cover price of 40 baht.

With that red frame, I thought it was Time. Isn't the red frame a registered trademark of Time?
funny enough, yesterday i saw this magazine in a bookstore in a city mall on display with the back cover facing out. You can guess whose face is on the back cover? T(h)aksin!
Yes - T(h)asksin appears on the back cover - which indicates they are unable to see what is considered to be a prime advertising position.
WK - I am trying to find out exactly what the limits of the Time trademark includes.
About trademarks, "TIME and the Red Border Design is protected through trademark registrations in the U.S. and in the countries where TIME magazine circulates."
If TIME has indeed managed to get its Red Border Design trademarked in Thailand then it might have a case against the publishers in this case.
What do others feel?
