NO TIME WASTED FOR WEDDING ISSUE

TIME magazine is the first magazine on the shelves in some parts of Thailand with images and coverage of Friday's Royal Wedding between William and Kate.

 A Special Commemorative Issue of its Asian publication, dated 16th May and on sale for THB 160, was on sale yesterday evening (Sunday) at Suvarnabhumi Airport in Bangkok. This edition features a good selection of pictures and commentary from the big day.

What's amazing, speaking as a publisher, it TIME's ability to get this edition designed, printed (in Singapore), distributed and on sale in Thailand in less than 48 hours. Thai publishers are accustomed to this processing taken at least 10 days - and more in some cases. Even getting a completed magazine distributed into the shops can take three working days.

Kudos to TIME for their efforts. I am sure it will result in extra sales.

UPDATE | 4.30pm : Having now visited at least three central Bangkok news stands it appears that copies of this TIME special edition for the Royal Wedding have not made it outside the airport.
