VACANCY FOR SPORTS SUB EDITOR

The Bangkok Post, Thailand's leading English language daily is looking for self-motivated, energetic persons with for the position of Sports Sub Editor. 
Necessary Qualifications for this position are:
  • A minimum of five years editing, sub-editing or reporting experience with a national daily newspaper, local or international wire service, preferably on a sports desk.
  • English fluency.
  • Avid interest in sporting news.
  • University graduate.
  • Outgoing personality and inquisitive mind.
  • Ability to work under deadline and time pressure.
  • Willingness to work weekends and odd hours.
  • Prior experience in web design, online news production a plus.
  • Newspaper design experience, including knowledge of Photoshop, InDesign and pagination systems a plus.
The sports sub-editor assists the sports editor in commissioning, editing, rewriting and fact-checking stories for the sports pages of the newspaper. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits for the suitable candidate.
