SEXY PICTURES IN STRANGE PLACES

You never know what you're going to find on the pages of some magazines in Thailand.
Last week I picked up a copy of one of the many publications devoted to the subject of cock fighting. There are at least half a dozen and, judging by the healthy levels of advertising, are probably making lots of money for the publishers.
With this particular one I found something rather unexpected - a page of sexy pictures of Thai girls. It's not exactly what you'd expect from this sort of magazine.
It's a proven fact that sex sells, so I can only assume that readers of cock fighting magazines expect this sort of coverage from their favourite magazines.

Note: I'm well aware of the kind of people who will arrive at this page having searched for a combination of "cock", "sex", "girls" and "Thailand". Sorry to disappoint you.

Have you ever been to a cockfight? It's quite an experience though I'm not so sure how many of them would pay money for a magazine. All the same, sex and cocks are in the same lexical set of vocabulary no?

Haha. Probably people who are interested in cockfighting are also interested in betting. And people interested in betting are surely interested in girls. :-)

It's big business. The cover story for this edition talks about a fight where the prize is 1.1 million baht.

There are at least half a dozen magazines devoted to the subject on the bookshelves in Thailand, so I guess there are enough people buying them to make it a worthwhile business for publishers.

@Andrew - I've not been to a cock fight but I know where you're coming from.

What's interesting is that, apparently, this sexy girl story compares the girls to some of the leading fighting cocks.

They don't look Thai though.

Agree with above comment: example girl in bottom right is definitely japanese.

at any rate, i don't find it too surprising at all. it would fit with the stereotypical alpha male character. the same way that some muscle car magazines would have advertisements featuring women.
