BANGKOK IS NOT A PLACE FOR ASTRAPHOBES

Okay - I admit it, I had to look up that word, but an astraphobe is someone with a fear of thunderstorms. I have hated them every since I was little, and for the past four nights we've had some monster storms come to visit. They were not monsters by Bangkok standards but certainly big ones by anything I have experiences in the UK. It does get better (so I am told) in September when the 'rainy' season comes to an end. it cools down then too, apparently.
