DAY TWO - AND I HAVE A COMPUTER

Day Two (Friday) in my new job and I now have a computer to go with my new desk. The slight drawback is that I am using a Thai version of Microsoft Works - but all the shortcuts still work so I'm okay for the moment. I should have a company email address either later today or on Monday too, so things are looking good.
I went for what is now becoming my customary lunchtime stroll to 7-Eleven. I read somewhere that you cannot stand on a street corner in Bangkok without being able to see a 7-Eleven store somewhere - I think whoever wrote that is right. It takes four minutes to walk from the BTS (skytrain) station to my office and I walk past four of them. At the very least they are an air-conditioned haven from the oppressive heat and humidity of a Bangkok lunchtime. Lunch today, as yesterday, consisted of one bottle of cold drink (palm juice I think) which 10 baht, and a small 'penguin' sized chocolate bar which is 5 baht. It's just too hot to eat at this time of the day so I think my main meals will be in the evening.
Enough for now ... have a good weekend everyone and more updates next week.
