A GEOGRAPHY LESSON
I thought you might be interested in a brief geography lesson about Thailand. The country is roughly the same size as France, and is bordered by Myanmar to the north and west, and by Laos and Cambodia to the east. Thailand is joined to Malaysia in the south, and the country is barely 30 miles wide at one point on the peninsular down there. The northern part of Thailand, including the area aroung Chiang Mai, is hilly and almost mountainous, whereas the rest of the country is realitvely low-lying. The Gulf of Thailand is part of the Pacific Ocean, whereas the water to the west is the Andaman Sea. The population is roughly the same as the UK (60-65 million) and around nine million live in the capital - Bangkok. That's your lesson for today!
