BUSINESS FAIR
This weekend is the Business Fair that has been organised by my company. (Notice how I have started to call it 'my' company now). I was there for a couple of hours yesterday and am going again today.
It's the first time we have done anything like this, and I think when all the figures finally come together it will just about break even. Perhaps most important is the fact it will have raised the profile of the company and our titles, because it's being held at the biggest and must luxurious shopping mall in the heart of Bangkok.
My role in this project has been nothing compared to the rest of the staff. Some were there from 10pm on Friday night and weren't going to be leaving until 10pm on Saturday night when the mall closed. That's dedication for you.
I was trying to find out about the compensation they'd be getting for giving up their weekend - and I think it's just 100 baht (1.50 UK pounds) per day and free lunch. Can you imagine UK employees doing that? I'm going to suggest to my boss that they get a day off too, to be taken sometime in the next couple of weeks. I think their dedication and hard work should be rewarded better than it currently appears to be.
