IT'S A LOTTERY

The Government lottery is the only form of legalised gambling allowed in Thailand. The draw takes place twice a month - 1st and 16th - and pre-printed tickets are sold on by street vendors, many of whom are disabled because Thai's consider it lucky to buy their ticket from these people.
The tickets come in pairs for 90 baht (just over one pound) and have a 6-digit pre-printed number. Basically you look at what numbers the vendor has for sale and buy the one or ones you like.
You can win in a number of ways - but the odds of a win of any kind with one single ticket are 100-1. The smallest win is 2000 baht, and you get that by matching the last two digits, while for matching the whole number you will win 2 million baht.
The next draw is tomorrow, and last night I got my ticket. My number for this draw is 161386, and I chose that for no other reason than it 'jumped' out at me from the ones that the vendor had for sale. That must be as good a reason as any, right ?
