JAKARTA WAS SUPPOSED TO BE NEXT

It was Singapore this week, and next Friday I was supposed to be flying to Jakarta on the Indonesian island of Java for a meeting. The recent flooding the killed around 30 people and left thousands homeless has reeceeded, and my BusinessWeek Indonesia colleagues had confirmed that it's perfectly safe to travel.
This morning it emerged that my boss had somehow forgotten to renew his passport! Good thing it's come to light now and not while we are standing in a queue at customs. Anyway, the meeting is now postponed until next month pending my boss getting his backside into gear. I have to say he's extremely embarrassed.
