TWO MONTHS ALREADY

Today marks two months since I arrived in Bangkok, can you believe it?
I think I have finally stopped doing a rough Thai Baht/British Pound convertion when buying everyday items - which is a good thing. I'm earning Thai bahts now and not pounds, so it's not right to compare. A six Mcnugget meal at Mcdonald's costs 99 baht, which is expensive compared with Thai 'hawker' food from the side of the road. That can be anything from 30 baht upwards. But 99 baht is cheap when you take the comparison to the same meal in the UK which would be at least 150 baht or more. (I am just using McDonalds as an example. I only get to sample 'Western' fast food once or twice a week).
And now shock news for you - I have started going to the gym. There is a small facility at the condo and Tanya I went for the first time on Sunday afternoon. I went again last night and, right now, my plan is to try and go every night. Last night I did 15 minutes fast walking - a distance a 3 km and 120 calories burnt according to the machine I was using. Even if I manage to do just that every night then I'll be happy.

120 calories for 3km walk means you have to walk for one hour to burn off your McNuggets meal. Take heart - he he he
