BAD NEWS SELLS

It's a proven fact that bad news sells newspapers. I remember reading an interview with an American editor once who used the phrase 'If it bleeds, it leads'. That's true the world over. Some of the mass circulation Thai national newspaper get away with publishing the kind of images that other publications in the rest of the world wouldn't go anywhere near.
The same can be said for blogs. I was somewhat staggered to see (thanks to Google Analytics) that my post on Saturday about the small fire at MBK attracted a huge number of visitors. Perhaps it was a case of people being concerned but I doubt it. My post late last week about employing a lady boy also attracted significant new visitors, although I think it's obvious what kind of content they were hoping to find.
The Bangkok Bugle is just about my personal experiences, thoughts and comments - and that's the way it will stay. If I was going after advertising money then you can be sure they'd be content on here that my mother wouldn't appreciate. Hi Mum!
