NO RISE IN SEA LEVELS

Apparently Thailand is immune from the effects of climate change with regard to the widely predicted rise in sea levels. When I first read this I had Trueman Show-style visions of the country being enclosed in some kind of protective sphere. That would certainly explain a lot of things.
I am certainly no expert on this, but I would have thought that a worldwide rise in sea levels would apply worldwide - although a leading Thai hydrologist claims that the Gulf of Thailand is immune. She is reported as saying 'We are too far from melting glaciers or ice sheets'.
