BUYING INGREDIENTS

Thai food and ingredients can be found in even the smallest supermarket in the UK. I enjoy cooking and if I see a recipe in a magazine or book then I like to try and follow it. The problem I've had is trying to find some of the things in Thailand that you would almost take for granted in the UK. Balsamic vinegar, lemon juice and pancetta are recent such examples.
It's possible my lack of ability to read Thai means I am missing some of these on the shelves, but they're even hard to find in the 'imported foods' section of the supermarkets.

Exact sentiments. I hardly cook in Singapore anymore as well, simply because ingredients such as Oregano flakes and passionfruit pulp that I use are not readily available anywhere near my place.
