MY FAVOURITE MAGAZINE
As someone who works in the publishing industry I like to think I know a bit about what makes a good magazine.
Because of their relative cost, imported magazines are very much a luxury even to me. I only buy one or two UK magazines on a regular basis and Olive gets the award as my favourite magazine at the moment.
I did buy it when I was in the UK, partly because I am interested in cooking and food. I admit that I've done very little cooking in the past year but it hasn't stopped me dreaming. Olive, which is produced by BBC Magazines, covers all aspects of food and travel which makes it a pretty entertaining read. It's also well designed and easy to read. That makes all the difference.
What magazines do you buy regularly, and why?

The only magazine I regularly buy a magazine called the English Garden. I buy it because I love gardening and this magazine has the most wonderful images but is also easy to read. There is another gardening magazine I love called Gardens Illustrated but it is quite expensive so I only buy this occassionaly.
Thinking about this has made me realise how few magazines I actually buy - I am sure this is to do with my upbringing (strangely) because I was always made to think that magazines were a waste of money(!). I feel a spending splurge coming on.

I have always spent far too much on magazines Teresa, and nothing has changed since I came here. The only thing is that my favourite magazines cost more because of the shipping costs.
Actually, you can save quite a bit of money (usually) subscribing. Sure you have to pay in advance but the incentive is that you can save a lot - sometimes up to 40 per cent from the cover price.
