LAUNCH EVENT
Yesterday saw the official launch and press conference for the new magazine. The event took place at Four Seasons, one of Bangkok's top hotels, and was attended by around 80 media and guests.
The event itself ran smoothly and the only disappointing thing was the poor number of media representatives who attended. That's something you simply cannot control - but even so it would have been nice to get a few more. I think we should get a fair amount of coverage over the next few days and weeks.
I had to give a short speech at the event - which was fine. The worrying thing was that I wasn't the least bit nervous about it. I hope I'm not getting too confident?
Actually, I think the reason for my lack of nerves is the language barrier. I spoke in English and my words were translated by our presenter. That wasn't a problem, and if anything it highlights the global nature of our company by having a native English-speaking executive director.
