TRAFFIC TROUBLES

After a spectacularly smooth trip to work yesterday morning (20 minutes instead of twice that on a normal day) the journey home last night turned into a nightmare. I can only remember one time where it's taken longer to get home.
Last night took around 2 hours and 15 minutes to get from my office to my condo which is only around 8 miles. The reason, as far as I can make out, was that although yesterday wasn't an official public holiday, many people had the day off and were travelling home after spending the long weekend away. It seemed like most of Bangkok decided to travel at exactly the same time.
This morning was equally bad although there's no logical explanation why it took an hour.
