THE EARTH MOVED ...

... in Bangkok last night. Even though the Thai capital is more than 1,000 miles from the epicentre of last night's Indonesian earthquake, the media is reporting that buildings swayed and were subsequently evacuated.
It happened at 6.10pm - and on the 6th floor of my building I didn't feel a thing. In fact that first I knew about this was some 45 minutes later when the taxi driver told us.
I've read before that Bangkok is essentially built on a swamp or jelly-like land. That explains why quakes so far away (equivalent in distance from London to Rome) are often felt here.

My colleague messaged me if I'd been affected with my studio filming because news had reported that other buildings within my company compound were evacuated. I didn't feel a thing either.

We are always caught in between the decision of whether to be safe than sorry - evacuate, or continue with our tight filming schedule... :( Sadly, work always come first.
