BIG SHIRTS FOR LITTLE PEOPLE
In preparation for this weekend's beach trip to Cha-Am I went shopping last night for a decent pair of shorts. Because I am, how shall I put it, larger than average I am somewhat restricted in where I can get clothes. Okay let's be honest, I am very restricted.
There is one chain called 'Export Shop' which has mainly casual clothes, most of which seem to have been made here for the likes of Gap, Abercrombie & Fitch, etc, but have never made it out of the country. That was my destination last night for shorts and some t-shirts.
I did find some nice things including a large t-shirt. When I say large I mean very large - 6XL to be exact. No one in Thailand comes close to being that big. You could almost fit an entire Thai family in that one shirt. And this wasn't at one of the malls frequented by expats and tourists so I doubt it will sell. I've made a note where it is and I'll keep checking to see if it's still there every time I visit.

Hi Andrew,
Where is "Export Shop" and what are their prices like?
Dave, there are branches in most of 'The Mall' outlets but in the centre of town there's also one at MBK - third or fourth floor I think.
I think prices are good - 140-180 baht for a decent t-shirt, 200 baht for a pair of shorts, 280 baht for a nice GAP shirt. Pants/trousers are good too with brands like Dockers. You have to hunt around a bit because some of the items are rejects, so look for holes, colour runs and things like that.
Great Andrew, thanks!!
Yah, I bought one of the Suea Leuang shirts, the one's with the kings symbol on it? XL is more like M. A tad snug for my belly. My 2XL jammies are more like L. I remember getting a pair of pants at Jatujak with a tag that showed the measurements, but upon getting them home, found them about 3 inches shy of what was on the tag.
