STAFF TURNOVER
A report published yesterday estimated that staff turnover in some Thai companies is as high as 20% per year. That highlights the problems that some companies face in trying to retain staff, and also the apparent lack of loyalty that some employees display towards their employers.
Next month I've been invited to talk at the World Magazine Marketplace exhibition in Singapore on the subject of recruiting and training quality staff. It's something I've had first-hand experience of this year with the new magazine so I can speak with authority and cite some excellent examples.
It's hard for people in other parts of the world to understand that way things work here, and global publishers must make concessions to local customs and standards when working with partners in this part of the world.
