GETTING BETTER
I promise this will be my last Daily Xpress post this week. Today's edition seems to be heading in the right direction so far as the news element of the front page is concerned, but there's quite a way to go with the rest of the content. The headline 'Lord of War arrested in Silom' refers to the capture of a wanted Russian arms dealer in Bangkok yesterday. It's timely and makes for a dramatic cover and inside story. Sadly it's let down by the back page which splashes on Liverpool's 4-0 win over West Ham on Wednesday night - more than 30 hours ago now. One picture inside today made me smile - an image of an alien handing out copies of the publication to unsuspecting punters. Does this mean you need to be an alien to understand Daily Xpress?

BANGKOK
The trees, which represent many different ages and species, have lined the walkways and circled the lake to solemnly express their outrage at the media group’s new endeavor, a 48-page daily distributed for free around the country. The trees have reportedly threatened to hold their ground until ‘The Nation’ editors apologize for dishonoring their fallen, paper-making brothers. “I feel bad for them standing out here in the sun all day,” said 34-year-old jogger Luckana Theerisut. “Some of them haven't had a drink for days.”
