WHO'S IN CHARGE?

It will be interesting to see whether yesterday's decision by the People's Alliance for Democracy to call of its protests at Bangkok's two airports will get the same kind of global media coverage as the protests themselves. If the television coverage this morning is anything to go by then Thailand will remain in the spotlight for the time being at least. The world is still watching.
Most reports, including BBC and CNN, very much take the view this is a victory for the PAD, whereas it was a court ruling the ended the Somchai regime. As long as the PAD go on thinking their protests have succeeded then the prospects of further protests lingers, especially if they don't like the way the next Government is formed.
In the meantime Thailand is essentially without a leader at exactly the time a strong one is required.
