DIZZY IN DUBAI, BACK IN BANGKOK

My Dubai trip is over and I am back in Bangkok now. My last day was marked by two memorable things. Firstly was probably the most important interview of my Thai media career to date (more soon) and second was another dose of vertigo. For me Dubai itself was just another city. I managed to spend an hour in The Mall of the Emirates, reputed to be the biggest shopping mall outside North America, although I didn't get anywhere close to the traditional centre of the city. There's a lot of construction going on and when it's finished Dubai will be a truly great city.
This picture is of the Emirates Towers, the venue of the conference I was attending. It's almost lego-like and is just one of many impressive megastructures in the city.
