FLY THAI, GET WET

Hidden away in The Nation yesterday was a story that made me smile. The Thai New Year (Songkran) is fast approaching (April 13-15) and in keep with traditions Thai Airways announced it will be blessing its first class passengers with water. I don't think this means the flight attendants will be getting their water pistols out but that was the image that briefly flashed through my mind.
I guess most people flying Thai at this time of year will be aware of Songkran, what it means and what normally happens (people get wet in one way or another) but for those who are unaware being splashed with water is going to come as a bit of a shock.
