BUY ME, BUY ME
This photograph (taken with my new N95) perfectly highlights the problems that publishers in Thailand face in getting readers to buy their magazines. This is just one corner of one bookshop and you can see just how many titles are competing for shelf space and attention.
In the UK I was always taught that the cover sells the magazine (or newspaper) but here you can hardly see the cover of most of these titles. My own magazine is in this picture; you can barely see the masthead let alone anything on the cover. We only sell two or three copies per month at this particular shop; I think you can see why.
