TENSIONS TO CONTINUE FOR SIX MONTHS ?
The Bangkok Post is reporting that the proposed referendum on Thailand's current political tensions could take six or seven months to arrange.
The story quotes election commissioner Prapan Naikowit as saying ".. it will take 90 to 120 days for the Public Referendum Bill, drafted by the EC, to be reviewed by the Senate. Then, public will have another 30 days to discuss the questions and topics of the referendum before it is held."
I cannot see any side being happy with this kind of timescale, and having things unresolved for so long isn't going to help Thailand's economic prospects.
