ANOTHER MAGAZINE LAUNCH

This month sees the debut of the Thai language licensed edition of Woman & Home magazine. Thai publisher Inspire Entertainment has licensed the title from UK-based IPC Media to add to their existing portfolio of licensed magazines including Arena, FHM, Car and Zoo Weekly which was launched earlier this year. IPC already has Thai language editions of its Hair, LivingEtc, Wallpaper magazines with other publishers here.
Inspire is reported to have plans to launch a further two or three licensed titles in the neat future, despite a reported four per cent decline in magazine sector advertising revenue.
My feelings about this are pretty much the same as those of Inspire. If you have a good product with an established global brand name then you can probably gain advertising at the expense of the more locally focused magazines.
The December edition of Women & Home Thailand runs to 206 pages, sells for 90 baht and contains 37 pages of advertising.
